A Native American village welcomes you as you travel through beautiful wooded, winding paths full of cultural history. On trails amid live oak trees, journey into the past as tribal members build canoes, cure meats, and share stories of ancestral history.

As you complete your journey through the village, a clearing reveals a 17th century colonial outpost. Complete with watchtower, palisades, church, general store, trading post, homes, and crop fields, history truly comes alive in this village.

Just beyond the outpost is an innovative stage for live theatre. Built to offer 180 degrees of picturesque views, guests can enjoy the Chesapeake Bay and the surrounding dunes while an action-packed play unfolds before their eyes.

The First Landing project is a showcase of the inception of early American history, when the Virginia Company sought to establish an English colony in the Chesapeake region. The pristine shores of Ft. Story provide 40 acres of ideal natural setting.

Live through the eyes of a young Native American man, as he is initiated to warrior status among the Algonquin people. His trials as a new warrior begin when the English colonists land. The tribe's tranquility is disturbed and conflict ensues. He develops an unlikely friendship with a young Englishman and discovers peace is possible between the two peoples. "1607: First Landing" explores the hopes and misfortunes that both cultures were forced to meet and, ultimately, overcome.
