36th Annual Neptune Festival
Boardwalk Weekend

Virginia Beach's boisterous send-off to summer is Neptune Festival Boardwalk Weekend, drawing visitors from across Virginia and beyond. Activities include the internationally-renowned North American Sand Sculpting Competition and daily concerts alfresco in tented festival stages are scattered along 30 blocks of the boardwalk, featuring a variety of live music. Over 250 artisans line the boardwalk for the Neptune Art and Craft Show, interspersed with a veritable smorgasbord of food vendors dishing out delectable delights guaranteed to please any palette.

Blue Moon Wicked 10K Run

The 10k course takes you along the beautiful Virginia Beach Oceanfront. This fast and flat course begins along Atlantic Avenue which parallels to Atlantic Ocean. Participants will run along Atlantic Avenue, the boardwalk, down to the Rudee Inlet and back up to the boardwalk to finish at 18th street along the ocean.

Virginia Aquarium opens new
exhibit, Restless Planet

This November, the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center opens its brand new, multi-million dollar Restless Planet exhibit featuring 12,000 square feet of gallery space, and home to 6,000 new animals and 367 new species including Komodo dragons, exotic cobras, hedgehogs, and so much more.
