Afternoon - En route to Virginia Beach, stop at the Chesapeake Bay Center for hands-on experience studying marine life in the Chesapeake Bay. Located in First Landing State Park, it showcases historical and modern day environmental exhibits. Visit the Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum to learn about our winged friends who call Eastern Virginia home. The museum is housed in the historic DeWitt Cottage, the only remaining turn-of-the-century seaside cottage. Enjoy a laid-back atmosphere and delicious food at Lavern’s Chix Café on the oceanfront. From surf to turf, you’ll find the right dish to suite your palate.

 


Morning - Start paddling, you’re on a dolphin quest! Kayak Virginia’s coastal waters on a search for dolphins. They’ve been know to swim alongside kayaks! Hike False Cape State Park, one of the last undisturbed coastal environments on the East Coast. Six miles of unspoiled beaches make it a true retreat for nature enthusiasts. You can enter only by foot, bike, tram, or boat. Enjoy some of the best seafood in town at Waterman’s Beachwood Grill while overlooking the ocean. The she-crab soup is sure to warm the cockles of your heart. End the evening with “Salty Sea Stories” at the Old Coast Guard Station.


Morning - Explore the Salt March of Lynnhaven Inlet by kayak, or experience a thrilling deep sea fishing charter or simply fish from any of Virginia Beach’s three fishing piers. At the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center seal lovers can enjoy a special in-water interactive educational opportunity with the Harbor Seal Splash! Reservations required.
