Afternoon - Late afternoon arrival at your hotel in beautiful Virginia Beach. Get acquainted with this exciting resort city. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Boardwalk followed by a scavenger hunt where you will embark on your historical journey into Colonial Virginia! Dine at your hotel or at the new restaurant, Catch 31. Enjoy entertainment provided by Hampton Road’s own “Colonel Crawford,” who will regale you with little known stories of our Virginia ancestors.


Morning - Begin your day with a stop at the First Landing Cross to see the site where the English settlers FIRST landed in the New World on April 26, 1607. Visit the Old Cape Henry Lighthouse and Museum, built in 1792, located on a bluff overlooking the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Tour the Adam Thoroughgood House and Gardens, built circa 1680 on the Lynnhaven River.

Afternoon - Luncheon Victory Harbor Cruise – Enjoy a narrated sightseeing tour of the historic Hampton Roads Harbor. See historic Fort Norfolk, erected in 1794, and view the Norfolk International Terminals and Naval Station Norfolk, the largest naval installation in the world. Following your cruise, visit the Moses Myers House, built in 1792 by Norfolk’s first Jewish family. Nearby, on the grounds of St. Paul’s Church, see tombstones dating back to the early 1600s, and a cannonball still embedded in the wall of the church from the British bombardment on New Year’s Day, 1776. Drive through the Historic Freemason District. View the beautiful homes along the picturesque Hague Inlet in historic Ghent. Return to your hotel to prepare for this evening’s dinner at Anchor Inn, a local’s favorite well known for its seafood specialties.


Morning - Depart for Virginia’s Historic Triangle, Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. In Colonial Williamsburg, step back into the 18th century while strolling the streets with an historical interpreter on a walking tour through the restored area of this lovely colonial capital city. Enjoy free time to shop and browse in the many unique specialty shops in Merchants Square. Your guide will point out dining options as you pass through town.

Evening - Visit Jamestown Settlement. This museum of 17th century America offers a unique blend of indoor gallery exhibits and outdoor living history to tell the story of the original inhabitants who settled here in 1607. Enjoy a visit to the Yorktown Visitors Center and Battlefield, site of the last major battle of the American Revolutionary War. Enjoy a driving tour through charming Yorktown and explore the quaint shops along the brand new Riverwalk Landing. Dinner tonight will be at the historic Boxwood Inn, featuring the exciting “Colonial Revels” program with costumed characters and songs of the period performed by the Doorway Singers.


Morning - Jets and Jellyfish! Tour master jet base Oceana Naval Air Station, home to the Navy’s largest East Coast jet fighters. Enjoy lunch at the Officer’s Club and view the many aviation exhibits on display.

Evening - Follow lunch with an afternoon at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, exploring over 800,000 gallons of aquariums, live animal habitats, an outdoor aviary and numerous hands-on interactive exhibits. Enjoy a film in the Virginia Aquarium 3D IMAX® Theater. Return to your hotel to prepare for a farewell dinner at IL Giardino Ristorante.


Morning - Following checkout and breakfast, visit the Francis Land House, a late 18th century plantation home featuring period rooms, special exhibits, gardens and a gift shop. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this home shows the lifestyle of a “privileged” family of the 1700s. Next, head to downtown Norfolk for a stop at the beautiful MacArthur Center for shopping and lunch at the Painted Lady before heading home. Special discount coupons will be provided for your group.
