HOP ON A TROLLEY
Why hassle with traffic and parking when there’s a Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) Beach Trolley headed your way? From the North End of the beach to South Rudee Inlet, and everywhere in between, HRT’s Beach Trolley is the convenient, fun way to get from place to place. It’s the way to go should you want to shop at Virginia Beach’s premier mall, go hot-dogging down a water flume at a theme park, visit the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center or First Landing State Park, or check out a concert at the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater. BEACH ACCESS FOR THE DISABLED
Access via ramps for the disabled are located at every beach access from 1st to 58th Streets. Wooden ramps that take you all the way to the water’s edge are located at 8th, 17th, 24th and 30th Streets. Designated disabled on-street parking is at Rudee Loop, 2nd, 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 20th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 33rd, 34th, 36th, 37th and 38th Streets. Designated disabled off-street parking is available at all municipal parking lots. Beach Roll-Eezz chairs available, please inquire at 757-427-8234.
RESORT AREA PARKING
The oceanfront contains more than 1,500 off-street municipal parking spaces and 725 on-street metered spaces. Parking meters have a three-hour time limit and are enforced April 1–September 30. Municipal parking lots are located at 4th Street, 9th Street and Pacific Avenue, 19th Street and Pacific Avenue, 25th Street and Pacific Avenue and at Croatan and Sandbridge beaches. Municipal parking lots charge a daily parking fee. Special hourly, weekly and monthly fees are available at the 9th Street Parking Garage.
ALTERNATE ROUTES TO ATLANTIC AVENUE
There’s more than one way to get to Atlantic Avenue and the oceanfront. To avoid traffic congestion, we suggest the Birdneck Road exit off I-264 (see map next page). Convenient street signs are displayed at the bottom of the exit ramp and will direct you to your desired Atlantic Avenue destination.
